Imagine a Malaysian kitchen-appliance business with separate pages for oven repair and cooker-hood installation. Enquiries for oven repair fall. Before editing the page, the owner needs to know whether it still appears for the right searches—and whether people still click it. Google Search Console can answer that narrower question.
What Does the Search Results Report Show?
Search Console's Search results Performance report shows how a verified website property appears and is clicked in Google Search. The chart summarizes the property; the table can group results by Pages, Queries, Countries, Devices or Dates. It does not record bookings, calls or every website visit.
If the numbers themselves are unfamiliar, start with our SEO metrics guide. Here the job is to read a report without mixing up its scopes.
How Do You Choose the Right Scope?
Select the verified property that includes the pages you want to examine. In the Search results report, choose the relevant Web search view and a date range. Google may distinguish text-based and multimodal Web searches; keep the same search type in both periods. Filter to Malaysia if the question is specifically about that market.
Compare completed days. The newest points may be preliminary, and ordinary data normally becomes available after two to three days. Record the property, search type, country, device and dates beside any finding so another person can reproduce it.
Why Start With Pages?
Open Pages and find the oven-repair URL. Click its row to filter the report to that page, then open Queries. Now the visible queries relate to the oven-repair page rather than the whole website. If the page has no row, do not assume it is unindexed: inspect the URL separately and check whether it had search data in the selected period.
Do not compare the full-property chart directly with a page row as if they used the same aggregation. A Pages row is page-scoped; the chart is property-scoped. Keep the page filter in place while investigating that page.
What Do Queries Tell You?
Queries help you check whether the page appears for searches it can answer. If the oven-repair page appears for oven spare-part purchases, check whether it actually sells parts; do not treat those queries as repair enquiries. If repair-related queries still show impressions but fewer clicks, inspect the result shown in search and what the page promises before changing its title.
Search Console does not display every query. Some are omitted for privacy and reporting limits; filtering by page or query can also change displayed totals. Treat the visible rows as evidence to investigate, not a complete list of customer searches. To interpret how impressions, clicks, CTR and position move together, use our Search Console metrics guide.
How Should You Compare Dates and Segments?
Compare equivalent periods with the same page, search type, country and device filters. For example, compare the oven-repair page over two completed 28-day periods, then inspect which visible queries changed. A whole-property trend may hide a service-page problem; a small change in one rare query may be noise.
Check promotions, holidays, service changes and website releases before drawing a conclusion. The report shows what changed; it does not prove why.
How Do You Turn the Report Into a Next Check?
Suppose the oven-repair page has fewer clicks in the later period. If its relevant-query impressions also fell, check which queries and devices account for the change; then inspect the page and search results. If impressions remain similar but clicks fall, inspect the query mix and result presentation. If clicks are steady but enquiries are lower, leave Search Console and test the page, form and analytics collection. None of these patterns proves a cause by itself.
Record the page, comparison dates, filters, finding and next check. The report cannot tell you how many suitable enquiries the business received; our SEO measurement guide connects search visibility to site activity and business outcomes.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Do I See Which Queries Show a Specific Page?
In the Search results report, select the Pages tab, click the page row to filter the report, then open Queries. The visible rows are not every query because privacy and reporting limits can hide some.
Why Do the Page Rows Not Add Up to the Chart Total?
The chart is aggregated by property, while the Pages table is aggregated by page. One search may show more than one page from the same property, so summing page rows is not a reliable way to reproduce the chart. Reporting limits can also affect totals.
Why Is Yesterday's Search Console Data Missing?
Search Console normally takes two to three days to make collected data available. Its newest points can be preliminary and change. For a newly added site, generating data can take up to a week.
